Chestnut Class celebrated Chinese New Year by eating noodles with chopsticks. We also did some dragon dancing and were very lucky to have Aidan Beggs' mummy come in to make lucky red envelopes with us. We counted out 8 shiny coins (as 8 is a lucky number for Chinese people) and put the money into our special envelopes. Aidan's mummy taught us lots about the Chinese cultural traditions and Aidan gave us a lucky Chinese cat to bring our class good luck throughout the year. We also enjoyed a Chinese dancing workshop.
